Children at Long Crendon School enjoyed a day of activities and
discussions around the theme of community values this week.
On Monday, the school held a Values Day inviting parents and key
community figures to work with pupils to discuss 22 attributes,
including honesty, peace and respect. Madeline Poote, Values co-
ordinator and Year 1 teacher said: "The task was to order the values
through discussion with the one thought as most important at the top.
We split the children into mixed age groups and the adults and
children worked together."
Thame Town Mayor Don Butler and Brenda Cole from the scout
Movement were among the guests who gave talks. The idea of Values
Education was pioneered in Oxfordshire by Neil Hawkes.
