Values Education Newsletter - March 2009

A Major and influential new Report in the UK, A Good Childhood fully supports and endorses the development of values-based schools. This landmark report, written by Lord Richard Layard, identifies Values Education as being a major way schools can help to counter the current excessive individualism and lack of positive values that is at the heart of many of society's problems. It refers to the work of West Kidlington School in Oxfordshire (see page 2 of this Newsletter) as an example of a school where adults are helping children to acquire positive values.
