Yesterday, Neil worked with Headteachers and teachers at Coed Eva School, near Newport in Wales. He outlined the principles and practice of being a values-based school. Neil was thrilled with the enthusiasm given to the day by all who attended. A significant number of schools in South Wales are now embracing Values Education and creating wonderful schools.

Bridget Knight (See Dynamic Values tab on this site) gave an inspiring presentation in Worcester. Here are some of the wonderful comments:
Very good.
Excellent – will change (evolve) our school practice.
Very inspiring.
Helped me to confirm that our school’s work on values is important, but can also be extended.
Yes, I have always enjoyed listening to Bridget.
Reinforces the good work in development of values in many of our schools.
Very reflective.
Excellent! We use the values already – however this talk inspired me to move this whole philosophy forward. Developing this within my school will be a key action after the meeting.
Yes, we use Values for Life. I have been inspired to take this to a different level.
Excellent. Affirming, calming and really valuing us as people. A spiritual dimension.
The presentation explained fully the values of Bridget’s vision. She has a calmness which induces you to reflect.
Useful to share ideas about what the journey looks like and how it can be different in different schools – but still a values approach.
Good to hear from another head. I liked the Value of the Month concept.
We do look at a specific value each half term and the positive impact of this is significant.
Excellent, inspiring presentation! Very practical and positive ideas on how values could be embedded through the school.
Very useful. Loved the photographs and the ideas for display. Some inspirational ideas.
Very inspiring way to end the afternoon. Thank you.
Yes. Affirming of current practice and good to have time to reflect upon how this approach may be developed and more widely shared with stakeholders.
Yes, gave me ideas of how to develop values in my own school.
Unbelievable. What an inspiration. I want to be an even greater calm, enthusiastic, joy- bringing, esteem-encouraging h/t at my school.
Very inspiring. Made me reflect on our practice. Gave me thoughts to improve P4C and values.
Yes. It was grounding, reminding everyone that it is important for heads to make time for themselves.

Dear Neil,
I will write to you more formally to thank you for Monday in due course, but for now please accept our sincere thanks and appreciation for a tremendous contribution to the day. You generated a real ‘buzz’ at the event and people have gone back to their schools inspired by the experience. Thank you also for being so easy to work with!
Grateful thanks for an inspiring day.

All good wishes,

Edwin
